Tullahoma Utilities Authority (TUA) and Tullahoma City Schools are proud to announce a new partnership designed to enhance educational opportunities and promote workforce development within the Tullahoma community.

Recognizing the vital role that education plays in the growth and prosperity of the community, TUA and Tullahoma City Schools have come together to invest in the future of Tullahoma’s students. This partnership underscores TUA’s dedication to supporting the educational advancement of local students and Tullahoma City Schools’ mission to provide practical experiences and career development opportunities.

As part of this initiative, TUA will offer co-op positions to students from Tullahoma City Schools who are interested in gaining practical experience in utility operations. These positions will provide hands-on learning experiences, mentorship, and exposure to various aspects of utility management and operations, all while allowing students to earn high school credits.

In addition, TUA will allocate $25,000 annually to fund scholarships for graduating seniors from Tullahoma City Schools. Scholarships will be awarded based on academic merit, financial need, and demonstrated interest in fields relevant to TUA’s operations, such as engineering, environmental science, and utility management.

“We are thrilled to partner with Tullahoma City Schools to provide these valuable opportunities for our local students,” said Allen Potter, President of TUA. “Investing in education is investing in the future of our community. Through this partnership, we aim to equip students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their careers and contribute positively to our community’s future. We are very grateful to the TUA Board of Directors for their support in initiatives like this, which make a significant impact on our community”

“We are so fortunate to be in a community that cares deeply for and desires to support students in their educational journey and next steps. I am overjoyed with this new partnership between TUA and TCS, where students are the focus. It is evident that TUA is committed to serving and supporting education through the newly created work-based learning opportunities and scholarships for our seniors. In TCS, we aspire to have our students career and college-ready, and this new partnership perfectly aligns with that goal.”

By providing financial support and practical learning opportunities, TUA and Tullahoma City Schools are committed to empowering students and preparing them for successful futures.
