Trenton Municipal Utilities (TMU) staff will conduct flushing of the city’s water distribution system starting Tuesday. This maintenance process is scheduled to last for two weeks, focusing on the area east of the railroad tracks to Highway 65.
TMU Comptroller Rosetta Marsh explained that this routine flushing is a requirement of the water treatment process and is performed to improve the overall quality of the drinking water. The procedure is typically carried out Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., but due to the Columbus Day holiday, the work will begin on Tuesday of next week.
Residents in the affected areas are encouraged to run their water for a brief period during the flushing hours to ensure it is clear before using it for tasks such as laundry. Lower water pressure may also be experienced during the flushing period.
For additional questions or concerns, individuals can contact the Trenton Water Treatment Plant directly.
