    Greenville Utilities wins prestigious APGA SOAR Gold Level award for excellence

    Greenville Utilities has been racking up the awards this year with one more for its natural gas utility.

    Per an announcement from Greenville Utilities, they have recently been honored with theAPGA System Operational Achievement Recognition (SOAR) for excellence in operating its natural gas utility. The award was given by the American Public Gas Association (APGA).

    The SOAR award recognizes a utility’s demonstrated commitment to excellence in four areas: system integrity, system improvement, employee safety, and workforce development. Greenville Utilities scored 156 out of a possible 158 points.

    “Greenville Utilities was highly rated in all four areas that are required of SOAR. Greenville Utilities consistently demonstrates a commitment to providing natural gas safely and efficiently to all those in their community and as such, serves as a model for all other natural gas utilities in the country. APGA is proud to recognize Greenville Utilities and is confident in their continued success.” says, Dave Schryver APGA President and CEO.

    Anthony Miller, Director of Gas Systems adds, “Greenville Utilities recognizes that enhancing our customer’s quality of life begins with skilled employees focused on safely providing reliable utility services,” We work very hard to help our employees stay safe and improve their skills while we maintain and improve our system.”

    Greenville Utilities was one of just eleven SOAR Gold Level recipients recognized this year. The recognition is for three years. Greenville Utilities received the SOAR award in 2015, 2018 and 2021.
