Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: Nifty 50 posted its sixth-consecutive weekly loss today, its longest losing streak in five years.
The Nifty Bank is currently down over 350 points, while the Midcap index is down 660 points.
Nifty Bank ended nearly 600 points lower and the Nifty Midcap index closed 936.1 points lower.
Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank, Reliance, M&M, Kotak Mahindra Bank were the top contributors towards Nifty 50’s downside.
IndusInd Bank, Bharti Airtel, Adani Enterprises, Shriram Finance, Tata Motors were the top Nifty 50 losers. A total of 41 of the 50 stocks in the index ended with losses.
Shares of Bharti Airtel declined after 6.7 crore of its shares of 1.1% of its equity changed hands at ₹12,563 crore in block deals today.
PG Electroplast shares declined 23% after reporting their Q1 results and cutting FY26 growth guidance. This was its biggest single-day fall on record. SBI slippages increased from March, while its margins remained under pressure. Garden Reach Shipbuilders’ EBITDA increased nearly 99%.
LIC, HPCL, Godrej Consumer Products, Titan, Sun TV, Kalyan Jewellers, Apollo Tyres, Ramco Cements were among the companies reacting to their first quarter results today.
Tata Motors, SBI, Voltas, Info Edge India, Siemens, Grasim Industries, Wockhardt, Garden Reach Shipbuilders, PTC Industries, Afcons Infrastructure, DOMS Industries, Concord Biotech, PG Electroplast, IFICI, Genus Power, Lemon Tree Hotels, Star Cement, Power Mech Projects, Shipping Corporation of India, JK Tyre, Garware Technical Fibres, Bajel Projects, were among the companies reporting their Q1 earnings today.
