UK’s prettiest seaside town where properties take the longest to sell | UK | News

    October 26, 20242 Mins Read

You might think that living in the UK’s prettiest seaside town there would be people chomping at the bit to snap up homes.

However, that could not be further from the truth. Brixham in Devon, has gained the notable distinction of having the slowest-selling housing market in Great Britain, according to property portal Rightmove.

In their latest Speed of Market Tracker, it was found that homes in this picturesque coastal haven are taking an average of 118 days to find a buyer.

Rightmove did not reveal a specific reason as to why Brixham had the slowest property market, however, the difficulty in finding buyers may be associated with the fact that buying a second home in a seaside town is becoming much more expensive and the imposition of double Council Tax.

In fact, Rightmove reported that nine out of the ten slowest markets to find a buyer are coastal towns, including in towns such as Minehead and Barton-on-Sea.

But while properties may take longer to sell in Brixham, this should not deter prospective buyers from considering the region.

Brixham’s charm and unique offerings continues to attract interest from potential buyers, with the average asking price for a property currently sitting at £338,011.

Brixham is home to one of the UK’s most beautiful fishing ports and colourful harbours. Lined with quaint shops and cafes, visitors are invited to enjoy the town’s maritime heritage.

Locals and tourists flock to the bustling market everyday to sample the freshest seafood, brought in by one of the largest fishing fleets in England.

With restaurants serving mouth-watering dishes made from the catch of the day, Brixham is truly an oasis for seafood lovers.

Nestled on the stunning English Riviera, Brixham boasts breathtaking coastal views and a plethora of outdoor activities.

The nearby beaches, including Breakwater Beach — popular among scuba divers — and Fishcombe Cove, are ideal for those looking for tranquil and calm, warm waters.

With the South West Coast Path winding through the area, nature lovers can explore miles of stunning cliffs and scenic trails.

Brixham’s natural beauty is simply unmatched, making it an idyllic spot for families and outdoor adventurers.

It is certainly a town that is worth both visiting and living in.
