Steve Parker is to head up Vasek Insurance, part of Gallagher’s UK & Ireland Retail division, as Managing Director, taking over the role from James Collins, who has been appointed Managing Director to lead the firm’s UK-wide real estate offering.
With an 80-strong team of insurance professionals, Vasek offers easier access to harder-to-place non-standard property insurance products to the wider broker market and UK customers.
With over three decades in broking, Parker offers extensive experience gained in the UK and Middle East, encompassing both personal and commercial insurance sectors.
His background includes a deep understanding of operational management and product development, complemented by a history of successful insurer partnerships.
Parker is joining Gallagher’s Vasek from Staysure Group, where most recently he was Product Development Director, having previously been Chief Insurance Officer.
Prior to this, he held senior roles in Jensten Underwriting and Coversure Insurance, where he was Managing Director and Associate Director, respectively.
He will report to David Birch, Managing Director of SME for Gallagher’s UK & Ireland Retail division, who said: “Steve is a brilliant addition to the business, and his experience and knowledge will be of great value to our team.
“Vasek provides exceptional solutions in the non-standard property sector, empowering brokers to meet the unique risks and requirements of their clients. The team delivers crucial assistance to brokers serving property owners and landlords. I have full confidence that Steve will do a fantastic job of leading the team and developing our proposition.”
Commenting on his appointment, Parker said: “I’m delighted to be joining Vasek, and I am excited to work closely with the team to build on established specialism in providing tailor-made solutions to property owners with their harder-to-place risks. Vasek has a great track record for supporting brokers with bespoke solutions that work best for their clients, and I look forward to taking this further.”
