Former property developer and socialite Matthew Doyle has offloaded his upscale home in the Sutherland Shire for $2.8million.

Doyle, 35, built the duplex in Burraneer in 2019 after buying the original home on the site for $1.64million two years prior.

Listed in May with a price guide of $2.5million, Doyle and his wife Kelsea constructed the dual-occupancy dwelling with each pad costing $969,000.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the sale went through on Friday to a Sutherland Shire local.

The sprawling property features a chic open plan layout, an entertainment deck, pool and bushland views.

It comes after the couple sold off the other half of the duplex in 2018 for $2million.

Doyle cut a high profile in real estate in the Shire, with an apartment development known as Tara Maree in Cronulla.

The father-of-two also built townhouses in nearby Caringbah South.

In May 2024, Doyle made headlines when he was granted release from prison after serving time for attempting to smuggle $85 million worth of cocaine into Australia.

He was jailed in 2020 and sentenced to a minimum of five years behind bars after he pleaded guilty to commercial drug supply and dealing with the proceeds of crime.

Doyle became involved in a plot to smuggle the drugs into Australia while speaking to undercover police operatives in the USA, the NSW District Court previously heard.

He was arrested in 2019 while waiting to collect what he thought was a shipment of up to 300kg of cocaine at a warehouse in Marrickville.

With time served in custody, Doyle was not due to be released until September 4, 2024, and a previous appeal to have his sentence cut was thrown out of court.

He returned to his waterside suburb several months ahead of his expected release date.

Neighbours told the Daily Mail at the time that Doyle and his wife were keeping a low profile at their home which was previously the subject of a proceeds of crime application.

The couple are known for driving luxury cars, including a late-model Range Rover and a customised Fiat 500 Italian sports car.

At the time, Doyle told friends he would work for his family’s car-detailing business, while keeping mum about a return to his successful career as a property developer.

Since wedding Kelsea, a publicist in 2018, Doyle has spent most of their married life behind bars.

However, the devoted wife has always vowed to stand by her husband and even keeps him close with a photo from the wedding day as her phone wallpaper.

The pair welcomed their second child in in December.
