Broken Bow City Council to decide on surplus property sales, parking stalls

    August 27, 20242 Mins Read

Broken Bow City Council will meet tonight (Tuesday, August 27) at the Broken Bow Municipal Building on South 10th Avenue starting at 6 PM.

Council will open new business proceedings by setting the date for the budget hearing for 2024-2025.

Rick Maas will be considered for re-appointment to the Broken Bow Housing Authority Board, a term that would end in August of 2029.

The sale of surplus real property appears on the agenda next. More specifically, bids will be opened by City Administrator Dave Schmidt for the property located at 843 North 6th Avenue.

An interlocal agreement between the city and the Broken Bow Airport Authority will be discussed next before a decision is made. The agreement would be for the 2024-2025 budget year.

The next 11 items on today’s City Council agenda involve parking stalls and their temporary closing, removal, or reserving. The items are as follows:

    1. Temporarily closing parking spaces on the northwest corner and south side of the square on September 12 from 8 am to 5 pm for Healthcare on the Square
    2. Temporarily eliminating parking on C Street between North 7th Avenue and North 9th Avenue for the upcoming school year to protect the public from construction hazards
    3. Removing parking stalls/spaces on the east side of North 9th Avenue north of the intersection of North C Street and North 9th Avenue as well as stalls on the north side of North C Street east of the intersection of North C Street and North 9th Avenue
    4. Placing two designated handicap parking stalls on the east side of North 9th Avenue, if the previous ordinance was approved
    5. Allowing Broken Bow Public Schools to reserve two stalls in the designated student drop-off and pick-up lanes at North Park Elementary
