CAA’s Michael Budge to join Abta as finance director

    October 1, 20252 Mins Read

Michael Budge will join Abta as its new director of finance, with effect from December 1, reporting to chief executive, Mark Tanzer.

He joins from the Civil Aviation Authority, where he is head of Atol. He is also currently a non-executive director of CAA (International).

Before joining the CAA in 2012 to work as a senior manager in aviation and travel finance, Budge had a “distinguished” career in corporate finance, said Abta.

Tanzer said: “Michael is well known by many in the UK travel sector and has a compelling track record in travel finance.

“He will bring much to Abta in his new role with us, helping to ensure that we deliver for our members.

“He joins at an exciting time, with positive consumer perceptions of the Abta brand at a high, and with much going on to support our members to trade even more successfully.”

Budge said: “I’m delighted to be appointed director of finance at Abta and to soon be joining an organisation that plays a pivotal role in shaping our travel sector.

“Having seen first-hand how Abta builds consumer confidence, supports its members and represents the industry, I’m excited to help contribute to that impact.

“I look forward to working with our members and partners to support their growth, promote best practice and help build a sustainable and trusted future for travellers and businesses alike.”

He succeeds Flic Jefferis-Boyd who has moved on, said an Abta spokesperson.
