Sensex Today | Stock Market Live Updates: We are at the halfway mark of this Nifty weekly expiry session, and after a blockbuster start, the markets have fallen like house of cards, with indices crashing into losses. The Nifty is now down up 100 points, Nifty Bank is down sharply from highs, trading with cuts of 400 points. BEL, Shriram Finance and Grasim are the top laggards.
HCLTech, TCS, Tech Mahindra and Infosys, along with IT stocks, are surging in euphoria amid the global question mark on AI advancement.
The Nifty is coming on the back of five straight weekly losses and has managed to defend the 23,200 mark so far on the downside. On the upside, 23,500 will remain the only level to watch and sustain above before the index could move higher.
HDFC Bank’s ADR jumped 6% on Friday before reversing some of those gains on Monday. HDFC Bank will also keep the Nifty Bank in focus as it has managed to close above the 56,500 mark, after a sharp recovery last Friday.
56,000 on the downside and 57,000 on the upside remain key. Watch out for other stocks like Paytm, Pine Labs, Piramal Pharma, Coforge and many more.
