    Germany shares higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.82% By Investing.com

    Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Utilities, Chemicals and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher.

    At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.82% to hit a new all time high, while the climbed 0.22%, and the climbed 0.44%.

    The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (), which rose 4.50% or 2.70 points to trade at 62.64 at the close. Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. () added 3.23% or 2.42 points to end at 77.42 and Mercedes Benz Group AG () was up 2.96% or 1.35 points to 46.95 in late trade.

    Biggest losers included Rheinmetall AG (), which lost 1.59% or 18.60 points to trade at 1,154.60 in late trade. Scout24 AG () declined 0.98% or 0.80 points to end at 80.45 and Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. () shed 0.75% or 0.35 points to 45.86.

    The top performers on the MDAX were Lanxess AG () which rose 3.87% to 14.49, Aumovio Se () which was up 3.74% to settle at 36.10 and Wacker Chemie O.N. () which gained 3.16% to close at 93.10.

    The worst performers were Redcare Pharmacy NV () which was down 5.86% to 63.50 in late trade, Hensoldt Ag () which lost 2.26% to settle at 87.20 and TKMS GmbH () which was down 1.65% to 89.60 at the close.

    The top performers on the TecDAX were TeamViewer AG () which rose 2.57% to 7.18, SMA Solar Technology AG () which was up 2.23% to settle at 57.25 and Siltronic AG () which gained 2.08% to close at 81.10.

    The worst performers were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 2.26% to 87.20 in late trade, Kontron AG () which lost 1.83% to settle at 22.50 and Aixtron SE () which was down 1.32% to 36.60 at the close.

    Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 389 to 259 and 28 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

    The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.10% to 16.36.

    In commodities trading, for December delivery was down 2.02% or 94.44 to $4,569.56 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, for delivery in October fell 0.61% or 0.51 to hit $83.02 a barrel, while the November contract fell 0.67% or 0.59 to trade at $87.93 a barrel.

    EUR/USD was down 0.49% to 1.16, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.22% to 0.86.
