Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren pressed Warsh on possible financial conflicts, pointing to his $100 million in assets and asking whether any are tied to companies affiliated with Trump and his family, “companies that have facilitated money laundering, Chinese-control companies, or financing vehicles set up by (convicted sex offender) Jeffrey Epstein.”
The exchange led to a back-and-forth between the two.
“Senator, I have worked tirelessly with the ethics officials at the Office of Government Ethics … and have agreed, Senator, to sell all of my financial assets.” Warsh added: “Senator, what I’m telling you is that those assets that you represent at this juggernaut will be sold if I’m confirmed.”
