Muller Property Group lodges plans for second phase of Nantwich scheme - includes hundreds of homes

Muller Property Group has lodged plans for the second phase of its Nantwich South scheme, which comprises hundreds of homes and a spine road.

The application relates to 49-acres of agricultural land that is located on the southern edge of Nantwich’s urban area

Approval has already been obtained for the first phase of the scheme, which is being brought forward in three sections. This includes more than 200 homes and an 80-bedroom care home.

The new hybrid plans relate to phase 2, and the application is seeking full planning permission to build a spine road and below ground infrastructure works.

The road will connect to the spine road in phase 1 to the north, Broad Lane in the south and the eastern extent of the site.

The outline element – phases 2b and 2c – is for housing and a local centre. It is envisioned that two separate housebuilders would bring forward about 200 homes each.

These will be a mix of one, two, three, four and five bedroom properties and will include terraced, semi detached, detached and apartments.

The application also seeks permission for a local centre extending up to 4,305 sq ft, with potential uses including a convenience store, post office or pharmacy.

A planning statement lodged with the application said: “The developments will lead to direct spending in the local and regional economy during construction, creating jobs and supporting the supply chain providers at this stage of the development.

“In turn, once operational, there will be council tax and business rate payments to CEC, alongside increased spending associated with the new residents on site.”

Cheshire East Council will review the application in due course.
