United Utilities have issued an update after many Penwortham residents have been left without water.
Reports of a leak in the Larchwood and Ashtree Grove circulated on social media this morning with many residents claiming they had been left with no water.
One person said: “Seems we have no water – leak to the Penwortham supply”, while another joked “Looks like I am washing in a ditch tonight”.

A spokesperson for United Utilities said that the team were currently on site tackling the issue.
They said: “Engineers are responding to reports of a leak in the Larchwood and Ashtree Grove area of Penwortham, which has left some customers with no water or low water pressure.
“We apologise for any inconvenience and thank our customers for their patience while our team work quickly to repair the pipe.”
St John’s Stonefold Church of England Primary School, Rising Bridge Road in Accrington is also closed due to no water.
