The Nifty index, after rising with gains of over 150 points, is now trading below 24,850. The Sensex index is trading above the 80,900 mark, with an uptick of over 350 points, after gaining over 600 points earlier in the day.
The Nifty Bank index is fighting to hold its ground after a period of decline. The banking index is trading in green with a rise of 0.24%.
In the broader market, after having a relatively subdued day, the Nifty Midcap 100 Index has fallen by a major 600 points from the day’s high to turn negative.
The auto and FMCG stocks are in focus. The Nifty Auto index has risen by over 2.50%. The Nifty Smallcap 100 index is rising by 0.38%.
Mahindra is one of the biggest names, trading with gains of over 7%. The motor company’s stock has also hit its record high. Escort shares’ price has alos surged.
