Barita’s Elite Analyst Programme to empower the next generation of finance leaders

    August 23, 20253 Mins Read

SMALL-FERGUSON… this programme reflects Barita’s deep commitment to talent development and the future of Jamaica’s financial industry.

BARITA Investments Limited has unveilled the Barita Analyst Programme, a highly competitive, one-year professional development experience designed to accelerate the careers of Jamaica’s most promising university graduates in finance, investment, and fintech. The programme officially launches on October 1, 2025. Applications were open from July 28 to August 15.

Created to give participants a 360-degree view of the financial industry, the programme is a full-time, immersive initiative that places graduates directly within the engine of Barita’s operations. Analysts will rotate across key business areas, including investment banking, wealth management, and research & strategy, where they will work on high-impact projects and solve real business challenges. From day one, they will be supported by one-on-one mentorship from the company’s leading finance professionals, executive coaching to build leadership presence and decision-making skills, and advanced training in critical platforms like Bloomberg and Power BI. Participants will also receive support in preparing for globally recognised certifications, including CFA Level I and Bloomberg Market Concepts.

“This programme reflects Barita’s deep commitment to talent development and the future of Jamaica’s financial industry,” said Ramon Small-Ferguson, CEO of Barita Investments. “As a group, we pride ourselves on being at the frontier of creative thinking, continuously challenging the status quo in how we approach opportunities, solve problems, and shape our industry. I started my own journey as an analyst, and that experience was a true launching pad for the career I have been able to build in investments. It gave me the technical foundation, strategic perspective, and confidence to navigate complex challenges and create value. With the Barita Analyst Programme, we are offering young professionals not just a job, but the same kind of transformative springboard, one that empowers them to think differently, lead boldly, and help redefine what is possible in our sector.”

Stephanie Murdock, chief human resource officer at the Barita Financial Group, described the programme as a transformational opportunity for young professionals.

“We’re looking for graduates who are bold, curious, and eager to grow. The Analyst Programme is designed to stretch participants beyond the classroom, support their development through structured mentorship, and prepare them to thrive in fast-paced, high-stakes environments. We see this as a long-term investment in our people and Jamaica’s financial future.”

Candidates will be graduates from accredited universities between the years 2023 and 2025, holding degrees in finance, economics, data science, business, or related fields. Those selected will begin their journey on October 1, joining an ambitious, innovative-driven environment where talent is nurtured and leadership is cultivated.
