This article is brought to you by Delta Utilities.

Every time you cook a hot meal, heat your home, or visit your favorite restaurant, natural gas is working in the background to keep New Orleans running strong. With Delta Utilities, your service will be in good hands.

This summer, following a thorough regulatory approval process, Delta Utilities will become your natural gas provider if you live in New Orleans, bringing a fresh and modern perspective to natural gas service.

Backed by exceptional customer service and a highly skilled, safety-driven team, Delta Utilities – a Louisiana-born, New Orleans-based utility – is committed to making a positive impact on the people and communities it serves.

Focused on What Matters: Serving You

New Orleans’ unique culture and dynamic economy define its identity – and natural gas is a backbone of both.

Whether fueling world-famous restaurants, hospitals, or schools, natural gas is critical to the organizations and industries that drive the city’s growth and resilience.

That’s why every decision Delta Utilities makes will be centered around you – the customers.

    Prioritizing Affordability and Reliability

Delta Utilities knows that providing cost-effective energy matters, and natural gas offers both affordability and reliability for New Orleans families and businesses.

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, households that use natural gas for heating, cooking, and clothes drying save an average of over $1,000 annually as compared to electric service, making it an economical choice for managing energy expenses and maintaining comfort throughout the year. In Louisiana, families can save an average of $1,100 annually by using natural gas for water and heating.

With Delta Utilities, you can count on energy solutions that consistently deliver exceptional value and dependability. The company has agreed to adopt the existing rate schedules and riders, providing an extended period of rate consistency for more than two years, meaning predictable natural gas bills for customers. Delta Utilities is also committed to providing financial assistance programs for low to moderate income households so they can make ends meet.

Beyond cost savings, natural gas is one of the most reliable forms of energy the community has, which is even more important as we enter hurricane season. Schools, hospitals, and emergency response services all depend on natural gas when they need it most.

Advancing Technology and Catalyzing a Smarter Future

Aging technology creates major challenges for utilities striving to meet the growing demands and expectations of the communities they serve. As Delta Utilities takes over natural gas service in New Orleans, it will implement a modern, customer-centric system with enhanced features such as real-time service tracking to improve convenience, transparency, and reliability.

This forward-thinking approach means that neither Delta Utilities nor its customers will face the frustrations and limitations of legacy technology systems. By building from the ground up, Delta Utilities’ systems will continue to adapt to the evolving needs of communities.

Creating Jobs and Fueling Economic Growth

Delta Utilities is dedicated to driving economic growth, transforming communities, and building a stronger, more resilient energy future for all. With the corporate headquarters proudly located downtown as the largest new Class A lease in 5 years, the company is already a cornerstone of New Orleans’ economic ecosystem and committed to its success.

This summer, when Delta Utilities takes over Entergy’s natural gas operations, the organization will be valued at $1.7 billion, with some 900 employees providing customer-focused service across Louisiana and Mississippi. Delta Utilities will be one of the largest natural gas utilities in the Gulf South and among the top 40 in the country, all while maintaining a focus on serving customers first and foremost.

All local Entergy natural gas employees are guaranteed the opportunity to continue their role at Delta Utilities, ensuring service continuity for customers. It is also bringing up to 200 new, local jobs to serve current and future customers, nearly 600,000 in total.

    Strengthening and Connecting Community

Delta Utilities is deeply rooted in New Orleans’ vibrant community fabric. Its mission goes beyond providing safe and reliable energy; it is investing in the city’s future through workforce development, impactful community initiatives, and partnerships to build resiliency and connectivity.

This year, it will launch the Delta Utilities Foundation, an organization dedicated to directing resources where they can create lasting benefits for the city.

    Looking Ahead

Delta Utilities will officially begin serving New Orleans as the city’s trusted natural gas provider this summer. No customer action is required at this time, as Delta Utilities is working closely with Entergy to ensure a seamless transition of service. Upon completion of the sale, natural gas services will automatically transfer to Delta Utilities and continue without interruption. Customers will receive a welcome letter with instructions on account setup and enrollment in programs like AutoPay and Levelized Billing.

In the meantime, visit www.deltautilities.com to learn more about Delta Utilities’ customer-focused, safety-driven, and reliable service.

    Committed to New Orleans

Delta Utilities is not just delivering natural gas — it is investing in what truly matters: the warm meals prepared at home, the local businesses that drive the economy, and the community connections that make New Orleans extraordinary.

As the city’s new natural gas provider, Delta Utilities is focused on building a more resilient energy future and a stronger New Orleans — because when the city thrives, everyone benefits.
