Randolph County and county sheriff settle case | Mid-Missouri News

    October 30, 20241 Min Read

A court case connected to a restraining order against Randolph County Sheriff Aaron Wilson has been settled, according to court documents.

Randolph County’s  Judge Scott Hayes issued the restraining order on Friday , barring Sheriff Aaron Wilson from accessing county monies and assets.

According to a Tuesday court entry, both the county and Wilson announced a mutual settlement on the matter, without needing to find wrongdoing or any further hearings.

In Friday’s motion for the restraining order, Randolph County attorneys allege “some unauthorized or inappropriate transactions may have occurred…including…a cash withdrawal…of $7,000 and the purchase of a vehicle for personal use taking advantage of government discounts available for county purchases.”

Hayes issued a new permanent injunction on Tuesday, barring Wilson and the sheriff’s department from making any expenditures or withdrawals without permission from the Randolph County Treasurer.

Wilson and the sheriff’s department were also ordered to return the cash withdrawal and transfer all accounts to the County General Revenue.

“The parties consent to the terms of a Permanent Injunction, to be effective forthwith,” the court entry said.

Wilson’s position is up for grabs in next week’s November election.
