BerryDunn expands public works and utilities sector practice

    August 28, 20242 Mins Read

BerryDunn, a Portland, ME-headquartered accounting and consulting firm, has expanded its public works and utilities sector practice with a wider set of consulting offerings.

The practice will now provide support in the areas of recruitment, staffing, and organizational challenges. BerryDunn has worked with public works and utilities clients – including in transportation, facilities, and wastewater collection and treatment – for over a decade.

The practice will now help local governments – who have historically underinvested in building talent pipelines – with creating succession plans and career ladders to improve operational performance.

The public works and utilities practice’s offerings include organizational and staffing assessments, retention analyses, asset management planning, and business process improvement services.

BerryDunn has hired Andrea Brinkley to strengthen the practice. Brinkley brings two decades of municipal operations experience, previously serving as an assistant director of public works in Texas.

“When you work with Andrea and other consultants on our team, you are working with a partner to improve business operations, re-calibrate, and prepare for future regulatory requirements,” said Kevin Price, community development and utility operations practice principal.

BerryDunn earlier this year expanded its ERP consulting practice and formalized its executive recruitment practice.

BerryDunn is the 47th-largest accountancy in the United States, with $137.9 million in annual revenue, according to Inside Public Accounting. The firm has approximately 800 people across eight offices in New England, Charleston, WV, Phoenix, and Puerto Rico.
