    Street closed on Fourth Avenue for utilities work

    KEARNEY — The city of Kearney Utilities Department, in conjunction with Midlands Contracting, has announced utility installation work will take place on Fourth Avenue between 56th Street and Hy-Vee starting at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20.

    This block will be closed to all traffic with plans to reopen completely by 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30, weather and construction permitting.

    Motorists are asked to take an alternate route, use caution in the area, and watch for crew members and equipment.
